Fruit kebabs

Ingredients

  • 200g grapes
  • Pineapple
  • 200g strawberries
  • 3 kiwi fruit
  • 1⁄2 melon (cantaloupe, galia or honeydew melon)

Recipe

  • On a chopping board, chop grapes in halves lengthways and add to a bowl.
  • Chop pineapple up by slicing top spikey bit off and then slicing bottom off to make it flat, then chop down the sides carefully to remove the outer tough layer. Then slice down each side leaving a square in the centre. Chop up the side slices into small chunks about 2cm x 2cm. 
  • Pick off and discard the top leafy bits off the strawberries, then cut the bigger ones in half and add to the bowl.
  • Peel the bananas, slice them into 1cm rounds, then add to the bowl.
  • Deseed the melon half, cut into 4 wedges, using a spoon to scoop away the flesh, chop into bite-sized chunks, then add to a bowl.
  • Peel kiwi fruit, cut in half vertically down the middle and then slice to make semi circles.
  • Divide and thread the fruit onto the skewers, alternating to make a nice coloured pattern. 
  • Great as a summer snack or dessert. 
  • Be careful with sharp skewers!
